This is version 2.0 of Crossword Pal and incorporates the ability to work on the Sunday puzzles of most newspapers which consist of 21 x 21 cells as well as handling the regular 15 x 15 puzzles. It does require at least a 13 inch monitor to work the Sunday puzzles.
Crossword Pal is essentially a word processor for crossword puzzles. It doesn't help you find the words but it does eliminate the hassle of erasing. By duplicating the pattern of the puzzle in your daily newspaper (which takes about 30 seconds on a symmetrical pattern which most puzzles are) and then going to a numbering mode it numbers the puzzle the same as in the paper. You then start entering words, based on the clues provided by the paper. If you make an error, just click again and put in a different word. It makes you a much more aggressive puzzle solver. The program will also load pre-programmed crosswords and either display the clues on the screen or provide a printed copy. There are examples of both 15 and 21 cell puzzles included in the Demo folder that can be opened and solved based on the clues that load with the puzzle.
This share-ware copy has a nuisance notice that comes up every tenth letter and will not Save or Print the puzzle. This is a very simple program to follow and requires almost no instruction but a users manual is included in the package.
This is a copyrighted program and all puzzles shipped will include an imbedded serial number that will transfer to any duplication.
